May The lord Give Strength to His People

ONE If we look at the Psalm we can find some aspects of God.

The Voice of the Lord is over the waters
The Glory of God Thunders
The voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars
The Cedars of Lebanon – the same trees they floated down from Lebanon to Build the Temple in Jerusalem
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness
The Lords sits enthroned as King forever
(Global Warming -  I don’t think anyone is thinking about that this week!!

All this along with Isaiah 43 denotes a powerful God
It talks of the Creator God the one who created it out of nothing and maintains it

They’ve just been showing the new tallest building in the world based in Dubai
If you imagine what it takes to build that building.
If you can think back far enough to the silent movies then you may have seen Buster Keaton clowning around on the steel girders they used to build the American Skyscrapers.  You might have seen Popeye doing it as well.  Where they walked along one girder and stepped into supposedly thin air only to put their foot on the next girder that was coming up.

While I was on holiday I spoke to a man who worked on skyscrapers and he said he’d worked on the 43rd floor.  I said our highest building in Hull the Hospital was 13 stories high imagine another 30 stories on top of that!!

Why am I mentioning this?  Well I am looking at what God has created - this world and universe and his ability to maintain it.  The vastness of this so we can realise that our God is powerful he is able and he is interested in you and me.

Look at how he led the Israelite out of Egypt and through the Red Sea

Exodus 6:6 Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment.

Once again look at the power of our God and his concern for you and me and say Hallelujah Thank you God Next
